Discover Peartree Serviced Apartments Salisbury, once the Clovelly Hotel, a pet-friendly, stylish stay near the cathedral, station and Wiltshire’s top sights.
Some places simply give you a bed for the night. Others give you a story, a sense of belonging, and a feeling that you’ve chosen exactly the right base for your journey. Peartree Serviced Apartments in Salisbury is firmly the latter.
As a travel and lifestyle blogger, I’m always searching for accommodation that enhances the destination rather than distracting from it, and Peartree does exactly that. Modern, welcoming, and beautifully run, it offers a relaxed home-from-home in the heart of Salisbury, Wiltshire, one of England’s most historic and atmospheric cities.
But what makes this place even more special is that beneath its contemporary design lies a wonderfully human and slightly eccentric story.
A Personal Welcome That Sets the Tone

From the very first conversation, it was clear that Peartree is run with genuine care. The owner I initially spoke to was incredibly accommodating, helpful, and keen to ensure our stay would be as smooth as possible. That warmth carries through to the entire team.
The staff are unfailingly friendly, always smiling, and constantly offering help — whether that’s local recommendations, assistance with the apartment, or simply checking that everything is just right. It’s this human touch that elevates Peartree far beyond standard serviced accommodation.
I am just sorry that Cathy was not in when I took the picture, as she was also amazing and couldn’t do enough to assist us.
A Rare Find: Truly Pet-Friendly Accommodation in Salisbury

One of the biggest highlights of our stay, and something that will resonate deeply with fellow travellers, is that Peartree Serviced Apartments are genuinely pet-friendly.
We brought our two cats with us to the UK, which can make finding suitable accommodation incredibly difficult. Not only were pets welcomed at Peartree, but they were genuinely considered. When we arrived, our cats were greeted with bowls and treats, a thoughtful and touching detail that immediately made us feel at home.
For anyone relocating, travelling long-term, or simply unwilling to leave their pets behind, Peartree is a rare and wonderful find in Salisbury.
Stylish Apartments Designed for Real Living

Today, Peartree Serviced Apartments comprises a collection of 16 beautifully designed apartments, offering a range of sizes to suit different travellers and lengths of stay.
Apartment options include:
- Spacious one-bedroom apartments
- Larger two-bedroom apartments ideal for families or extended stays
Each apartment includes, (including perfectly positioned wall plugs, a must for me):
- A fully equipped kitchen
- Comfortable living space
- Modern bathroom
- Clean, stylish, contemporary finishes
This isn’t accommodation that feels temporary; it feels settled, calm, and designed for living.
Before Peartree: The Story of the Clovelly Hotel

Before its transformation into the Peartree Serviced Apartments, this building lived a very different life.
Until around 2010, it was known as the Clovelly Hotel. A budget-friendly, no-frills hotel that had around 18–19 rooms in the main building alone. Many of these rooms did not have en-suite bathrooms, and guests shared facilities; something that feels almost unimaginable today.
But what Clovelly lacked in luxury, it made up for in character.
It was particularly popular with actors performing at the nearby Salisbury Playhouse, who needed affordable, practical accommodation for their runs in the city. One story passed down from the previous owners perfectly captures the spirit of the place:
“ An actor once gave a BBC radio interview talking about staying at the Clovelly and how he avoided the small charge for using the communal bath plug… by blocking the bath with his socks instead.”
Thankfully, this was “before my time,” as the current owner laughingly put it.
It’s a brilliant, very British anecdote, and a reminder that this building has always been about welcoming travellers, just in very different ways.
A Building That Evolved With Salisbury

Mill Road, where Peartree is located, sits close to Salisbury Train Station in an area shaped by the city’s Victorian and early 20th-century expansion. As Salisbury grew and became more connected to London and the wider country, streets like this developed to support everyday life; practical buildings, modest hotels, and town accommodation.
The transformation from the old Clovelly Hotel into Peartree represents a complete reimagining:
“ From a basic, budget actor’s lodgings into a refined, spacious, modern serviced apartment experience.”
Yet in a way, the purpose remains the same: welcoming people to Salisbury and giving them a place to feel at home.

Peartree Serviced Apartments Salisbury are more than just beautifully done places to stay. They are part of the city’s ongoing story; a building that has evolved from a humble, slightly eccentric actor’s hotel into a thoughtful, stylish home for modern travellers.
And somewhere in that story, hopefully, the spirit of the old Clovelly still lives on; just without the sock-plugged bathtub.
